UnderpaidLoveMonki @ 8:48 pm Tuesday, February 21st, 2006

There are some folks who wanna know what escrima (eskrima, aka “stick fighting). Wel,, I came across this website and you can check it out for yourself. Check out these, in particular:

http://www.doceparesusa.com/video/docepares.mov (stick fighting)
http://www.doceparesusa.com/video/espada.mov (stick-and-knife fighting)

I don’t practice that style (but this one), but it gives you readers a sense of what escrima is.

btw, I’m certified to teach escrima. Anyone want to take my UPLM 101 course?? =)

Tai Chi
Many people think Tai Chi is a slow exercise that benefits health. To your shocking surprise, that’s only the small aspect of this martial arts. The initial training of Tai Chi is, yes, slow and it works your entire body to make sure your body movements are perfectly aligned to generate power.

This style of martial arts is not use use force-against-force. If it is so and you encounter a bigger and stronger opponent, you have a losing chance to win a fight. However, with Tai Chi, you can ovecome a bigger and stronger opponent using your Tai Chi of generating power and strength within your body.

So, disregard all that marketing crap you see on TV or newspapers. I’ll show you what real Tai Chi is all about…
