I wasn’t messing around
Scott Rippee @ 8:42 pm Thursday, February 2nd, 2006I got tired of listening to the little lemons whimper about being tied up. What can I say, their time had come.

I got tired of listening to the little lemons whimper about being tied up. What can I say, their time had come.

All was good…. when Cory had his lemons.

“I am going to suck that lemon dry.“
And then someone took those lemons and left a nasty note:

Finally, I purchased a new car, but I failed to get rid of my other four. So, welcome number five…

I wanted an Audi TT, but a decided to save a few thousand and purchase a used Red 2005 Ford Mustang with chrome 20″ rims. I was never a Mustang guy, but I love this car.
To break in my new whip I decided a day trip to San Francisco was in order. Our first stop was the Sony Metreon.
It is an impressive builing with very modern architecture… very well done. (more…)
humuhumunukunukuapuaa!!!
I came across this name from reading the Yahoo news - “Humuhumunukunukuapuaa Dethroned in Hawaii.”

Here’s an excerpt:
Everyone thought the humuhumunukunukuapuaa was Hawaii’s state fish. As it turns out, the brightly colored fish with the excessively long name has been dethroned.
It’s pronounced HOO-moo-HOO-moo-NOO-koo-NOO-koo-AH-poo-AH-ah

Happy Chinese New Year!!! It’s the Year of the Dog!
From the Yahoo Photo Gallery:

A musician waits her turn to play as Chinese performers dressed in traditional lion costumes dance during the opening ceremony of the Temple of the Earth Park temple fair, as the nation brings in the New Lunar year during Spring Festival in Beijing, China Saturday Jan. 28, 2006. The Spring Festival falls on the 1st day of the 1st lunar month, often one month later than the Gregorian calendar. It originated in the Shang Dynasty (c. 1600 BC. 1100 BC) and it is the most important festival for the Chinese people, when all family members gets together, just like Christmas in the West. No, I was not laying down with the dogs and I don’t even think I was bitten by fleas, but whatever bug/bugs that did bite me those couple of nights ago are going to die. When I awoke I had a total of 64 bug bites. 40 of which were on my right arm. The first day was alright, I hardly noticed them, but the second day they itched so bad I had to bring anti-itch cream to work with me! Anyways, after having washed my sheets, the last two nights I’ve lost a good amount offf sleep, thinking that these damn bugs are back! I would be almost asleep and then think I was feeling a bug,, turn the lights on, and go on a mad bug search. Of course I never did find any bugs. I have resorted to sleeping with clothes on in a sleeping bag on the coutch! I think its time to fill my room up with some posion and kick some bug ass.
Here are some pictures of the massacre, although not all that welll:

I aimed high and managed to win woot.com’s monkey prize (last place) for their weekly contest. I will be waiting for my screeching monkey in the mail woot!
Here’s a preview:
The contest was to incorporate Microsoft’s wireless keyboard, mouse combo with an album cover of your choice. I got the album part right but fell short on the full spectrum of rules (even though I did get the perfect wireless ms keyboard added). The falling short part definately helped with the screeching monkey prize.
Here is Cory’s entry:
He followed the rules (used the wireless mouse for the walkway and wireless keyboard for the house). Good stuff! Fun contest Woot.

My sister and her family moved up to Vacaville this weekend. They have a lot of stuff (I only managed to break some of it, ohh and loose my car key)! This is a picture I took out the window driving back home on 99.
Vegas was mucho fun this New Years with Alicia. Tons of people and one huge party.

I took this from the hotel room window. It was cool being able to see the strip…. or at least NY NY and MGM. :)

There were so many people on the streets! This was a couple of hours before the new year. Good times.. I was up by a casino at 12, but in the street it was chaos. I was amused (easily entertained) by the huge beads that people were wearing around their necks…… Like prison balls, check these babies out:

Getting ready to leave Las Vegas…. Look at all that traffic.

We started out the day by going to the Valley of the Temples where there is a cool Buddist temple. It costs 2 dollars per person to get in, but is is worth it.

Yeah….. Got a little tore up but not to bad.. I will try to add more stuff to the mound tomorrow. It would help if the workers that are by your desk stopped knocking your monitor off of its stand. :)
Tuesday December 20, 2005 continued…
Later on we decided to end the night with a bottle of wine…

… and several games of Mah Jongg.

Not much happened today. I went shopping and screwed around with the birds in the house we are staying at. They have three cockatiels. Two are normal, and one is clinically insane. His name is Shipwreck… very fitting. He plucks about half his feathers out because of a nervous brain disorder. Quite entertaining. Here is a photo…

Here is a video clip of Pretty Bird… a normal cockatiel.
Here is a video clip of Shipwreck… ummm, a normal chicken?
The Mammoth trip last weekend was kick ass. I rode up with Ryan and Linda and we met up with Tara, Eric, and Jeremy that night at our place. When we were driving up we saw a bear. That was cool because I had never seen one before (aside from at the zoo). I do remember a story my grandpa told me of when he feed a bear and ran out of food, which made the bear angery and caused it to attack his truck!
The next two days we went snow boarding. The resort reminded me of a cross between Heavenly and Kirkwood. I thought I was going to be so sore that I wasn’t going to be able to walk, but that didn’t happen. :) Chillin’ in the hot tub with falling snow after boarding was pretty sweet. Here are a few pics:

Until now I haven’t been able to get to a computer, so I was unable to do a daily blog entry from here in Pearl City, Oahu, HI. So, here is the recap…
Friday December 16, 2005
We left my apartment at about 10 AM to leave Fresno at a little after 11 AM. The flight to LAX wasn’t bad… only about an hour flight. Due to a slight oversight when purchasing our tickets, we had a lay over in LA for 3 and a half hours. While waiting I had a delicious meal at Chili’s (it was either Chili’s or Burger King… no other options).

We boarded our plane and took flight at about 4:15 PM PST. The flight was absurdly long. They didn’t provide food, I wasn’t in first class, and they played Elf and A Beautiful Mind. I think the flight lasted about 13 and a half weeks, or maybe 6 hours… I couldn’t tell. We arrived in Honolulu at 8:45 PM Hawaii time, so that’s 10:45 PM PST. We left the airport at 9:30 PM and who knows what happened, I was rediculously tired… we went to sleep at 3:00 AM Hawaii time, 5:00 AM PST… gross.
