Vista source code leaked

Scott Rippee @ 1:34 pm Sunday, April 6th, 2008

OMG Some behemoth bugs! For instance, those variables at the top should be declared constant. Any ole dev could decide to increment the feature count, decrement the bugs, and set ready to release!

UnderpaidLoveMonki @ 1:36 pm Sunday, February 24th, 2008

Is Mono a good thing for open source? It’s for you to decide…

Here’s some interesting arguments:

Official MPlayer for Windows w/GUI Released!

Cory Maddox @ 2:42 pm Tuesday, September 12th, 2006

As of 09-11-06, MPlayer has been released for Windows. The program is stand-alone and does not need to be installed. Just download it from their site and run it. Up until now the only way to use MPlayer in windows has been via the command line, or with a third party front end. :) This is great news, since MPlayer is one of the best Media Player applications around, for any OS.

There are still some minor issues since this is the initial release, but it is more than functional. Here are a few screenshots:

HOT: Get a Vista RC1 Key

Cory Maddox @ 4:09 pm Monday, September 11th, 2006

For those of you who need a valid key for Vista RC1 just follow this link. Its a backdoor to the Microsoft page that gives out keys. This is most likely what they will be linking to their Vista RC1 page sometime later this week.

So enjoy. Just follow the link, log into the Microsoft page and confirm your information, and you will be given a key. You can actually get two keys per account you have. :) The link is an official Microsoft link, and not some phishing site.

Windows Genuine Advantage Spyware Removal

bucho @ 11:23 am Sunday, July 30th, 2006

WGA

Some of you might be as familiar with Microsoft’s latest piracy warrior… the Windows Genuine Advantage spyware program. If not then here is what it is (on the surface):

Windows Genuine Advantage includes two main tools - Windows Genuine Advantage Validation and Windows Genuine Advantage Notification. The WGA Validation tool checks that an instance of Windows XP is properly licensed, and is required for some Windows updates. If the copy doesn’t check out, WGA Notification repeatedly reminds the user to upgrade to a properly licensed version of Windows.

Find windows, fast. TopDesk is a quick and easy way to switch between applications. With a single key press, you can instantly view thumbnails of all open windows, display thumbnails of windows belonging to the current application, or hide all windows to quickly access the desktop.

Here is a screenshot of all of my open windows tiled awaiting my choice:
