Is Mono a good thing for open source? It’s for you to decide…
Here’s some interesting arguments:
Someone did a comprehensive comparison between Linux and Windows kernels. Yahooo! Enjoy the reading.
As of 09-11-06, MPlayer has been released for Windows. The program is stand-alone and does not need to be installed. Just download it from their site and run it. Up until now the only way to use MPlayer in windows has been via the command line, or with a third party front end. :) This is great news, since MPlayer is one of the best Media Player applications around, for any OS.
There are still some minor issues since this is the initial release, but it is more than functional. Here are a few screenshots:
For those of you who need a valid key for Vista RC1 just follow this link. Its a backdoor to the Microsoft page that gives out keys. This is most likely what they will be linking to their Vista RC1 page sometime later this week.

Windows Genuine Advantage includes two main tools - Windows Genuine Advantage Validation and Windows Genuine Advantage Notification. The WGA Validation tool checks that an instance of Windows XP is properly licensed, and is required for some Windows updates. If the copy doesn’t check out, WGA Notification repeatedly reminds the user to upgrade to a properly licensed version of Windows.

A long story, ummm not short…. :)
