Mad Fishing Skillz

While I may know a lot about anime, and a lot about games, my real specality and interest lies in fishing. I have been fishing since I was extremely young, and have always been excellent at it. You can say fishing is luck all you want, until you get next to someone who excels at it, and that goes right out the window. I am actually a really friendly guy, and enjoy helping peple, and so on, but when it comes to fishing I get an enjoyment out of going near peple who have been fising for hours (if not days while camping) and showing them up. It know its bad, but I cant help but smile when I catch fish after fish next to people who have not gotten a bite for hours. This does not happen every time, but it happens often. I do pretty good fising at lakes, but when I am at a creek or small river I can do unbelievable things.
In addition, I almost never fish by myself. I do not like dealing with people saying things are fish stories. Because when someone asks how did you do and then you tell them, “I caught 15 fish in an hour” or, “I caught 200 bass and trout in a week” people do not really believe you. Which is why you bring as many friends as possible. When you say, “Well, I caught 20 fish in 2 hours” and at the same time a friend is going, “It was insane, I could not believe it” people normally do not go, “suuuureeeeeee, whatever you say Cory”.
Lately though I am trying to take videos when I catch fish. My camera is a bit frustrating though. I have enough storage in it to record over 30 minutes of video, but it only lets me record 30 second clips. Oh well. Back to fishing. I headed up near Yosimite from Friday June 30th to Tuesday July 4th to a place called Mammoth pool for some camping. The weather was fantastic and the fishing was even better, to a point. Near our campground we could hike up to a deep pool in the river where there was a large amount of trout. Had some exceptional fishing catching quite a few Rainbow trout as well as German Browns. From there we hit the lake and caught a few more browns and rainbow trout with a Purple Spoon and a Red Spooted rooster tail.
The best fishing though came the day before the last. About a 2 minute drive from our camp was another camp ground. At the entrance was a sign that said trailhead. We headed down that for about 10 minutes, following a path first then leaving the path and going through Manzaneeta bushes and such and tunnels of shrubbery to get to the place in the video. It was a stunning place. The creek ran into the lake over a waterfall, with crystal clear water. The ground was a huge granite slope which was perfect to lay down on. The very first cast into the current and I caught a nice rainbow trout with my spoon. I switched to salmon eggs after that an had no problem catching fish for the next two hours. The video is from that area. At one point I even got on an intertube and just lazed about floating on the water for a while. Caught a nice size trout with a rooster tail from a floating inflatable intertube, (ill upload a video of that a bit later).
So.. I had a blast is what it all comes down to. I can not wait to go back up to Mammoth. For how nice it is up there, the just under 2 hour drive is almost nothing. I am going to post my fishing escapades as they happen on here, if I can remember to take photos and videos. As I said though, its not always like that, just a lot. This last weekend I headed up to Pine Flat and only caught a single fish. That may also be due to me spending most of my time catching lizards and snakes though.
When I was younger “16-19″ I was even able to catch fish with my bare hands. I have not done it too many times, but at the King’s River I have caught a 1 and a half pound Rainbow Trout. At a river that runs into Hunington Lake I caught 4 foot long brooke trout, while no one was catching anyting with their poles. Also at a place called Collin’s Lake I caught 10 crappie, one weighing in at 3 pounds. The first two places I just waded into waist deep water and caught them. The crappie though I put on some goggles and went swimming. It is amazing how those fish will swim right around you and bite at your hair.

Only dinner for three after 2 hours of bare-hand fishing? And what are the goggles for? Really? There’s a spot on the TOulumne river where a coulple of friends and I caught 10 fish with barehands in an hour or so. Of course, we had trapped them under a big rock and then we just had to reach in, hold on tight and pull them out.
Nice fish though, WTG.

Yeah, I’ve been messing with recording video with my camera and I have the same problem with it only recording video for 30 seconds. So annoying when I have so much storage.
Anywayz If I am ever stranded in the wilderness and have just one wish, it will be to have Cory around to catch fish all day long so there is plenty of food. And then my next thought will be why did I not wish for an amazingly hot chick to be stranded with me and my thought after that will be why the hell did I not wish my self back to civilization.

This is such a funny video. Cory getting angry at his gf and so proud of his fish. :) How does YouTube decide what part of the video to use for the initial picture thing?
