How to upgrade your plant

Scott Rippee @ 6:30 pm April 1st, 2006

I thought it was about time I gave the plant at my desk a hardware upgrade.

This worked out really well and was quite easy. Here are the steps:

  1. First obtain some high quality, high preformance ram.
  2. Forcefully remove the a module from the stick (a small flat head screw driver works good)
  3. Bend pins on chip outward so they can be inserted into plant leaf
  4. Insert chip onto plant leaf. Optionally bend pins slightly in to ensure a good connection.

So far I’ve noticed much faster production of chlorophyl and thicker, greener leaves. Bechmarks to follow.

Warning: I had an experience with an angry plant keeper after the discovery of the modification. We had a difference of opinion about the impact of a RAM upgrade for a plant.

LOL… did the plant guys actually have a talk with you about it?  I thought that you had to water it yourself.

They have been watering it and he came by while I was at my desk.  He pulled the leaf off that had the chip in it and walked away.  He came back though, with the ram module, because he thought that maybe I had wanted it.  I told him that it was for the upgrade to my plant and he took off. lol  He should have known that I wanted my ram module there and not touched it.

Now the damn thing is running all slow again.

They also took Cheryls big plant because we keep all of the lights off and they said it woudl die.  So we got a slik plant replacement. haha
