I just finished watching March of the Penguins this evening. It has been on my list for a while but I couldn’t see how fat penguins waddling around was going to be as amazing as everyone makes it out to be. I was going to see it at some point though, just because I am a Penguin fan.

I found this movie to be really amazing. There is so much interesting informaiton packed into it and the shots are beautiful. Where March of the Penguins really shines is the story and how it is told. Emperor Penguins overcome the most amazing of obstacles on a continuous basis and watching their complex interactions was very interesting. I was also very pleased at the plumpness of these penguins and loved how they could slide on their bellies and shoot several feet out of the water. I had no idea that they could survive for three months without eating to care for their young 70 miles away from the water.
