Doomed!
UnderpaidLoveMonki @ 10:54 am July 3rd, 2006Saturday evening my main Windows box running 2000 Pro all of the sudden experienced a corrupted ntoskernel and then the hard drive started to make quiet ticking noises. From then on, the hard drive became inaccessible and I crapped in my pants! All my data gone! Save me!!!

if you want you data back stick the drive in the freezer for several hours or a day. pull it out, plug it into another system and see what data you can save. this seems to have a fairly good success rate. check google on the matter.

I’m gonna need to try that freezer trick. It appears the HD head crashed where it’s stuck at Track 0.
Now I’m going to need a freezer bag and an external USB HD enclosure.

Make sure you dont power the drive up with any condensation on it. Typically after a visit to Uncle Freezer the drive will be very moist. Make sure that all surface moisture as well as any in the nooks and crannies is gone.
