My possible new name
UnderpaidLoveMonki @ 11:21 am January 29th, 2006humuhumunukunukuapuaa!!!
I came across this name from reading the Yahoo news - “Humuhumunukunukuapuaa Dethroned in Hawaii.”

Here’s an excerpt:
Everyone thought the humuhumunukunukuapuaa was Hawaii’s state fish. As it turns out, the brightly colored fish with the excessively long name has been dethroned.
It’s pronounced HOO-moo-HOO-moo-NOO-koo-NOO-koo-AH-poo-AH-ah

This article confuses me. I read it three times now and I think I finally got it. Does this mean that it was officially the state fish and now the title was removed, or it never was and now they are voting? This article avoids telling the whole story. There is a lot of background information on the fish, but it doesn’t seam to have much to do with the story. I grew up thinking that it was the state fish and so did Treanna (who grew up on Oahu).

Ok, I guess it was only the state fish from 1985 to 1990 according to the Hawaii State Legislature.
The Bill is scheduled to be heard tomorrow, so I guess we will have to wait and see.

hahaha I was wondering if anyone else was confussed about the article. I read it twice and I also don’t know the answers to your questions. Its an AP article so its on a bunch of news sites spreading the badness. The only thing I got out of this is that the humuhumunukunukuapuaa is a really cool looking fish.
